The National Academy of Engineering (NAE) Grand Challenge Summit is “bringing together hundreds of leading scientists and engineers, educators, policy leaders, innovators and forward-thinking corporate executives to address society’s most pressing problems.” This second annual NAE Grand Challenge Summit is being held in Los Angeles on October 6-8, 2010. The summit Series on the Grand Challenge also has a program specifically for teachers. The K-12 Partner Program teaches educators to better prepare for challenges ahead. This program is designed to get students interest in engineering and science, increase the understanding of why engineering and society in the world matter, let people know that engineering education is student-focused, increase interest in STEM entrepreneurship, and create a network of people interested in STEM.
